Early Childhood - Research Intern
PURPOSE: To assist Program Coordinators in selected research, training, and technical assistance activities associated with the Early Childhood Intervention Study, the Center on Evidence-Based Practice ADHD Study, and the Child Care Consulting Program
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Review and categorize archived program records, reports, and
dissemination materials
§ Assist in data collection reliability activities for telephone and
face-to-face interviews
§ Assist in the design, implementation, and analysis of consumer
satisfaction and outcome measures for training workshop
participants
§ Assist in administration, data collection, and data analysis activities
for behavioral screening initiatives in Head Start and child care
programs
§ As appropriate, assist in ongoing review of research and evaluation
literature related to intervention practices for young children with
challenging behavior and their families
QUALIFICATIONS: Prior experience with research and program evaluation activities involving examination of written records, interviews, and onsite observational visits
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Orientation with the Volunteer Coordinator (one hour). On the job training includes individualized training sessions and guided readings regarding research protocols and data systems with Program Coordinators and/or designees. Estimated 12 hours required.
TIME AND PLACE: Variable schedule can be arranged during business or evening hours.

COMMITMENT: 8 hours per week for one semester

Minimum two (2) hours per month formal supervision meetings with additional contact as needed. Performance evaluation conducted semi-annually or as required by volunteer’s university affiliate.
