Environmental Enhancement - Watershed Enhancement Team (WET)
This is an ongoing volunteer event run by the City of San Diego Open Space Division Rangers. This event was designed for volunteers to address some of the most pressing needs in the San Diego River Park. Locations and tasks will vary from week to week. Activities may include invasive plant & trash removal, watering, trail maintenance, and other special projects to help preserve and enhance the San Diego River Watershed! Space is limited. Intended for long-term volunteers.
Days and times subject to change.
Please Note: All volunteers must be at least 18 years old and complete all required Better Impact forms and trainings prior to volunteering. Volunteers can expect a physically demanding morning, consisting of long hikes on uneven/steep/wet terrain and heavy lifting in direct sunlight. This opportunity is not open for community service verification. Project location and details are shared via email a week in advance.
Project specific tools will be provided, but volunteers are required to bring their own work gloves.
*NO BATHROOMS ON SITE*
Additional Project Information: Please wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, and sun protection (a hat, sunscreen, etc). We recommend bringing at least 32 oz of drinking water.
