Be a volunteer, make a difference

At Surrey Fire and Rescue Service we are fortunate to have the support and commitment of volunteers.

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service serves diverse and ever-changing communities, with a wide range of risks such as residential, commercial and industrial premises, and large areas of common and heathland.

We work hard to serve our communities, with a focused drive on prevention and safety messaging. Our volunteers take on a wide range of important roles within SFRS to help stations and departments engage effectively with our residents.

Our volunteers currently help to deliver a wide range of services including, but not limited to:

  • Community safety talks
  • Safe and Well Visits
  • Supporting service open days
  • Attending local events
  • Assisting at Fire Service training exercises
  • Working in partnership with The Fire Fighters Charity
  • Assisting at multi-agency exercises

Fire Volunteers come from all backgrounds and walks of life, and offer their skills, time and knowledge to deliver a variety of important roles. Their dedication helps to provide invaluable support to our communities and colleagues within Surrey Fire and Rescue Service.
