The Salvation Army - Ames

The Salvation Army is searching for a Food Pantry Prep Assistant. This pantry position is in the mornings from 9:30am-11:30pm. Available shifts are on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday each week. 

Duties include assisting with pickup of donations from our partners, assuring items are acceptable, sorting and other activities that help us to prepare for our afternoon guests. Because of the nature of this position, there will be bending, lifting, crouching, walking, and standing for long periods and having stamina to complete the tasks. If there is a lull, we have other duties in the food pantry that can be completed. 

Working in our pantry is a lot of fun. In the beginning, you’ll work side by side with one of our experienced volunteers or staff members so you can see how things work.  We want this to be a rewarding experience for you. 

 In addition to being rewarding, this opportunity offers job skills, new social connections, letters of recommendation, and service hour confirmation for school and religious requirements.
