Restoration - Thetis Lake Regional Park - Pistol Range Remediation Site
This site in Thetis Lake Regional Park was a former pistol range for over 100 years. The pistol range activities ceased in 1999. Following a successful remediation program, ecological restoration work began on the site in 2016.
Part of the ecological restoration work has involved removing yellow archangel, a proliferation of thistle and several other invasive plant species such as foxglove. This work mainly involves digging out, or cutting below ground the roots of these invasive plant species to remove them from the site.
