Peoria Citadel - Corps and Community Center - Youth Mentorship Program
We are seeking dedicated volunteers to join our Youth Mentorship Program, designed to offer children in our community the one-on-one support they need to thrive. As a mentor, you will help promote positive youth development by being a role model, offering encouragement, and guiding children toward better self-esteem, academic success, and life skills.
Program Details:
- Goal: Provide personalized attention to help children develop social, academic, and emotional skills. Mentors serve as positive role models, cheerleaders, and guides to help children navigate life’s challenges.
- Time Commitment: Mentors meet with their mentee twice a month for 1 hour per session. Additional meetings may be scheduled depending on availability.
- Activities: Each session may include homework help, reading, arts & crafts, games, life skills activities, and conversations about everyday life.
What We Expect from Mentors:
- Be a positive role model and supportive presence.
- Be patient and engage in activities that help the child grow personally and academically.
- Encourage open communication with the child’s family.
