Feeding Programs - Food Pantry / Warehouse Volunteer

Food pantries. Warm meals. Sack lunches. The Salvation Army is committed to offering these programs and services to those in need in our Peoria-area community, but we need your help!

ACTIVITY SUMMARY:

Volunteers are needed to help in our Family Services Kitchen and Warehouse with the following:

  • food pantry packing              
  • sandwich making
  • sack lunch preparation
  • organization and stocking
  • Etc.

Qualifications:

  • Reliable, professional and hardworking
  • Ability show kindness and compassion
  • Individuals looking to volunteer on a consistent basis must pass initial screening process, including a background check
  • Ability to lift at least 10 pounds
  • Ability to reach overhead, bend down, etc.

When we love beyond hunger, we can provide hope and help for those in need in our community. (Please note: Family Services Kitchen, Warehouse and Food Pantry volunteer opportunities will vary depending on the needs of the Kitchen, Warehouse and Pantry of each specific day; therefore, when you are signing up to volunteer for this activity, the tasks will vary depending on the need at that time).

(Volunteers that need to complete court-ordered community service may be placed in this position. You must submit a volunteer application and complete our volunteer process before volunteering).

  • How much can you lift comfortably? Must be at least 10 lbs
