Tasks
We are looking for 10 Volunteer stewards per shift.
The stewards staffing the Luminarium have varied roles to play. There is the purely practical aspect of running of the structure – opening doors, taking tickets, welcoming and informing visitors, helping with the cleaning etc.
More importantly there is the relationship with the public – this is where stewards make the biggest contribution in helping visitors to have the optimum experience of the luminarium. There are 8 or 9 workstations - the stewards are rotated between these stations every 30 minutes.
the Luminarium has a capacity of 80 visitors at a time so the stewards will be vital in helping manage the flow of visitors throughout.

Communication skills and excellent customer care.
Physically able to stand/walk for 30 minute sessions in some work stations
Good to know
Whilst the luminarium is accessible, wheel chair access may be difficult for stewards working. The Luminarium event days will be during October half term, so there will be outdoor working and warm layers of clothes will likely be needed. The luminarium is illuminated by natural light levels and is an immersive experience with ambient music and colour within the structure.
Level of English Language
To do this role, you need to be able to:
Understand times and dates
Have conversations with visitors
Understand and follow detailed instructions with 2 or 3 parts
Read short sentences and simple instructions
Dates and Times.
Briefing must be attended in order to volunteer- Friday 23rd October, time to be confirmed.
Steward shifts will run from Saturday 24th until Thursday 29th October.
9am- 1pm and 12- 4pm.
