North East Museums - Access to Volunteering group
We are looking for volunteers with disabilities to join a steering group that will support the volunteering team and North East museums in their work to break down barriers and work towards volunteering becoming as accessible and inclusive as possible.
The volunteering team have developed this group alongside partner organisations Autism Able and Percy Hedley.
Tasks:
This group advises us on the development of resources that will support volunteers who have disabilities to volunteer. The group also takes part in mini-audits of some of our venues and exhibits, feeding back on accessibility.
Skills:
We are interested in volunteers who are enthusiastic to give their thoughts and opinions.
Good to know:
We are happy to chat before you join about reasonable adjustments and support needs. We have an access to volunteering bag available with items that can support volunteering, such as ear defenders and fidgets.
Dates and times
This group will take place on the third Thursday of every month with some exceptions (a break for summer) . 10:30- 11:30.
