This role is suitable for those aged 16+

We are looking for gallery invigilators who will provide a warm welcome and a friendly face to our visitors and help them to make the most of their visit to the National Gallery Masterpiece Tour : Monet exhibition. This is the first of a three year programme of visiting artworks to the gallery that you will be engaging with.

This role will involve:

-Speaking with visitors of all ages, ability and backgrounds to help them engage with the art and activities in the exhibition.
-Help with directing visitors around the many spaces.
-You will need to have a desire to learn about the works and the artists who created them, and be comfortable with sharing your knowledge. Training and support will be provided.
- Supporting front of house in keeping areas and resources clean and tidy.
-Supporting the ethos of the exhibition of engaging with art spaces to encourage health and wellbeing.

Skills  Required:

-People person-friendly, approachable, and ready to chat, and support our visitors of all ages, ability and backgrounds..
-Good communication skills.

Good to know:

The museum has an accessible entrance including lift access. Although the building is often quiet, there are times when large groups are visiting that can be noisy due to the high profile of the exhibition. There are sensory and interactive activities that encourage noise and movement.

English Language Level:

To do this role you need to be able to,

Have short simple conversations
Understand detailed instructions with 2 or 3 parts
Read signs and single words
Read short sentences and simple  instructions

Dates and Times: 

10am - 1:30pm and 1:30pm - 5pm January 17th to March 25th (not including Sundays, Saturdays finish at 4pm)
