We’d love you to join us for a weekend adventure camp supporting young carers to relax, connect with peers, and build confidence through outdoor activities.

Complete the Confirmation Form within 7 days
✅ Your place is confirmed once the form is submitted
⚠️ If the form isn’t returned, your spot may be offered to another volunteer
🔒 Spots are limited and will close when full
📌 EOIs are reviewed as they are received. You will be contacted to confirm if you have a place or are on the Backup List.
👥 On the Day
• Arrival and welcome on Friday afternoon
• Volunteer briefing before young people arrive
• Meet the team and go through the weekend plan
• Ongoing support from AKKF and Wellways staff throughout the camp
• Structured daily schedule including activities, meals, and downtime
🧩 What We Will Do
• Archery and outdoor skill-building
• Abseiling and adventure challenges
• Obstacle course activities
• Orienteering and navigation tasks
• Campfire and reflection sessions
• Glow worm night tour
Activities may vary depending on weather and participant needs.
This helps young carers build confidence, resilience, teamwork, and positive connection.
🤝 Your Role
• Welcome and support young people
• Help them feel safe, included, and comfortable
• Encourage participation (no pressure)
• Assist with meals, routines, and transitions
• Support Chat Groups and wellbeing discussions
• Help supervise activities and outdoor areas
• Support evening routines and overnight supervision
• Help with pack-down and farewells
• Always supervise with another adult
🛡️ Safety
• Your Blue Card (WWC) must be valid and verified
• All onboarding must be complete before attending
You may notice:
• Uneven ground and bush environments
• Outdoor and nature-based activity areas
• Night-time activities (e.g. glow worm tour)
• Young people needing encouragement or reassurance
AKKF provides:
• Supportive staff at all times
• First Aid-trained team members
• Two-adult supervision
• Pre-camp volunteer briefing
• Support from AKKF and Wellways staff
🔒 Full program details are shared with confirmed volunteers only in line with safeguarding practices.

If you accept a spot, we’ll be counting on you to attend.
We strongly encourage volunteers to attend the full weekend to provide consistent support.
If something changes, please let us know as soon as possible.
This helps us find another volunteer and keep the program safe for everyone.

🚗 Travel
Please travel directly to the venue, or use the optional camp bus.
🚌 Bus Option:
• Departure: 4:00 PM Friday – Corner of Henley St and Bruce Hwy, Earlville (near public toilets)
• Return: 3:30 PM Sunday – same location
If getting there is difficult, let us know — we’re happy to talk through options with you.
👕 What to Bring
• Comfortable outdoor clothing
• Enclosed shoes suitable for outdoor activities
• Hat and sunscreen
• Water bottle
A full packing list will be provided before the camp
🍽 All meals and snacks will be provided (please let us know any dietary needs)
