We’d love you to join us for a special evening supporting young people to connect with nature and experience one of Victoria’s most unique wildlife moments.

📝 How to Join

1. Apply
   Submit your Expression of Interest (EOI) in MyImpact
2. Check your email
   If selected, we’ll send you an email
   📧 (please check your inbox and junk folder)
3. Let us know you’re interested
   Reply within 48 hours
4. Confirm your spot
   Complete the Confirmation Form within 7 days
   ✅ Your place is confirmed once the form is submitted

⚠️ If the form isn’t returned, your spot may be offered to another volunteer
🔒 Spots are limited and will close when full

📌 EOIs are reviewed as they are received. You will be contacted to confirm if you have a place or are on the Backup List.

👥 On the Day
• Meet at either the bus pickup location or directly at Phillip Island
• Short, friendly briefing before young people arrive
• Travel together (if on bus option)
• Guided group experience at Penguin Parade
• Return travel after the event
• Ongoing support from AKKF staff throughout the evening

🧩 What We Will Do
• Watch the Little Penguin Parade at sunset
• Explore the coastal environment
• Participate in group connection activities
• Wellbeing and reflection conversations

This helps young people build connection, calm, and confidence through shared nature experiences.

🤝 Your Role
• Welcome and support young people
• Help them feel safe, included, and comfortable
• Encourage engagement with the nature experience
• Support safe group movement through the venue
• Assist with transitions and check-ins
• Facilitate connection and positive peer interactions
• Help maintain a calm and supportive environment
• Always supervise with another adult

🛡️ Safety
• Your WWCC must be valid and verified
• All onboarding must be complete before attending

You may notice:
• Cold and windy evening conditions
• Outdoor walking paths and coastal terrain
• Wildlife viewing areas
• Young people with varying comfort levels

AKKF provides:
• Supportive staff at all times
• First Aid-trained team members
• Two-adult supervision
• Pre-event volunteer briefing

🔒 Full program details are shared with confirmed volunteers only in line with safeguarding practices.

🚗 Travel
Volunteers may travel directly to site or use the bus options below:

🚌 Bus Options:
• 3:00 PM – 10:30 PM: Ruffey Lake Park (The Boulevarde), Doncaster VIC
• 3:30 PM – 10:00 PM: 29 Brindley St, Dandenong South VIC

Return travel will be to the same pickup locations.

If getting there is difficult, let us know — we’re happy to talk through options with you.

👕 What to Bring
• Warm clothing
• Parka or warm jacket
• Beanie
• Enclosed shoes
• Water bottle

Food may be provided (please let us know any dietary needs)
