We’d love you to join us for an exciting outdoor adventure day supporting Defence young people to build confidence, teamwork, and connection through fun and challenging activities.

📝 How to Join

    Submit your Expression of Interest (EOI) in MyImpact
  2. Check your email
    If selected, we’ll send you an email

  3. Let us know you’re interested
    Reply within 48 hours
  4. Confirm your spot
    Complete the Confirmation Form within 7 days
    ✅ Your place is confirmed once the form is submitted

⚠️ If the form isn’t returned, your spot may be offered to another volunteer
🔒 Spots are limited and will close when full

📌 EOIs are reviewed as they are received. You will be contacted to confirm if you have a place or are on the Backup List.


👥 On the Day
• Short, friendly briefing before young people arrive
• Meet the team and go through the plan together
• Rotating outdoor activities throughout the day
• Ongoing support from AKKF staff


🧩 What We Will Do
• Laser skirmish
• Labyrinth exploration
• Challenge Hill obstacle activities
• Mental Health Education session

This helps young people build confidence, resilience, teamwork, and positive connection.


🤝 Your Role
• Welcome and support young people
• Help them feel safe, included, and comfortable
• Encourage participation (no pressure)
• Support teamwork and group engagement
• Assist with transitions between activities
• Facilitate connection and group discussions
• Always supervise with another adult


🛡️ Safety
• Your WWCC must be valid and verified
• All onboarding must be complete before attending

You may notice:
• Outdoor terrain and bush environments
• Active games and physical challenges
• Uneven ground and natural surfaces
• Young people with varying confidence levels

AKKF provides:
• Supportive staff at all times
• First Aid-trained team members
• Two-adult supervision
• Pre-event volunteer briefing
