NOTICE: Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are not accepting applications for new volunteers at this time.  We anticipate holding a class Spring of 2022, so check back on our website at http://www.vmnhistoricsouthside.org/training.html late summer/fall.

Thank you for your interest in the Virginia Master Naturalist Program. To be considered for membership in our organization and its basic training class, please complete the application, which can be accessed with the button to the right.

The Virginia Master Naturalist training class prepares you for certification in the Virginia Master Naturalist (VMN) Program. The VMN Program is a statewide corps of volunteers providing education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities.

The Basic Training class typically consists of ten 3 hour classroom sessions held bi-weekly and four approximately 3 hour field trips.

2022 Basic Training Class participant limit:  20 students

2022 Basic Training Class application deadline:  TBD

2022 Course Fee:  $ ###.## per person or $ ###.## for couples or families due by TBD

2022 Publication allowance:  $ ##.## of the course fee

The Virginia Master Naturalist Program is a statewide corps of volunteers providing education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities. 

Interested Virginians become Master Naturalists through training and volunteer service.
