Donation Shed Sorter (Warra)

Do you enjoy practical, hands-on work and staying organised behind the scenes? In this role, you will support AWLQ’s Rehoming Centre by helping process, sort and distribute donated goods that directly support the care of animals on site.

This role involves working in the donation shed to sort and organise items donated by the community. Tasks may include distributing clean linen to different areas of the Rehoming Centre, cutting bedding into appropriate sizes, sorting food, toys and equipment, organising items for transport to other centres, and assisting with rubbish management and disposal. Your work helps ensure teams have the supplies they need to care for animals every day.

We are looking for volunteers who are:

  • Comfortable with physical tasks, including lifting and manual handling
  • Well organised, reliable and able to work independently
  • Happy working in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-focused and willing to follow procedures
  • Positive, hardworking and supportive of AWLQ’s mission

📍 Location: Warra Rehoming Centre (Bracken Ridge)
💛 Commitment: One consistent weekly shift preferred
🕒 Shifts: Weekday morning or afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday

Every donation sorted and distributed helps improve the comfort and wellbeing of animals in our care and supports the smooth operation of the Rehoming Centre.

Please ensure you read the full volunteer guidelines to confirm the role aligns with your experience, physical capacity and availability.
