The Speedwell Halloween event! Ages 15+.

Help during Historic Speedwell’s new big Halloween event: Strangest Things! The event takes place on multiple weekends in October. Availability for all dates is preferred. All stations are ages 15+.

Available roles:

·         Group Leaders (2 volunteers needed) – Lead groups through the grounds of Historic Speedwell, taking them from station to station. Memorization is not as necessary for this role. Black cloak will be provided. Ages 15+

·         Reanimation Lab Scientist (1 volunteer needed) – Help bring our event’s mad science station ‘to life’! This escape-room-style puzzle features a mourning Victorian woman’s attempts to reanimate her deceased scientist husband, following his instructions. Visitors help identify clues, decode a secret message, and electrify his body. This role involves improvised acting, portraying Melanie (our Curator)’s lab assistant. Costume will be provided. Ages 15+

·         Morristown Ghost or Stuntsperson (2+ volunteers needed) – Present the slightly silly history of the 1788 Morristown Ghost Hoax. We need another historically accurate ghost-hoaxer (i.e., a person in a white sheet saying ‘ooo’). Alternatively, we would like a stuntsperson to set off safe small-scale firework effects! Ages 15+
