Transitional Housing - HR Virtual Interviewers

Are you looking to give back to the community while flexing your recruitment skills? Well, look no further! YW’s Transitional Housing program is looking for virtual volunteers with two or more years’ experience in conducting job interviews. Our clients are looking to gain some practice with navigating virtual interviews and are hoping to practice with patient, understanding professionals.


  • Contributing to women’s economic prosperity
  • Empowering clients to improve their job-hunting skills and helping them make professional connections
  • Providing people with strengths-based feedback to help them grow
  • A passion for working with vulnerable populations



  • Conduct virtual 30 minute – 1 hour mock interviews for an entry-level position
  • Creating a safe, patient, understanding space for clients to practice their interview skills and their digital literacy skills
  • Provide occasional follow-up support and connection for client(s) as needed
  • Provide strengths-based feedback
  • The time commitment would be whenever you are available, and we ask that you commit to doing a minimum of 1 session per month
  • Volunteering is set to start mid-August 2021


  • Two or more years’ experience conducting job interviews
  • Background in HR, recruitment, or related profession
  • Can be from any sector
  • Adept at navigating professional boundaries
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and the non-profit sector is an asset


Qualifications Required

  • Are you legally entitled to work in Canada? Must be Yes
  • We require you to have a Level 8 Canadian Language Benchmark Must be at least Level 8
  • What age category do you belong to? Must be at least 18 years of age or older
