Volunteer as a Girl Scout Trainer - Trainer: Girl Scout Experience - Ongoing & Flexible

Girl Scout Experience Training volunteers will help support girls and adults by delivering trainings and workshops for adult volunteers. These trainings will focus on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and empower volunteers to facilitate the Girl Scout program. Additionally these trainings will be for middle school and high school aged girls, teaching them leadership and community action. Training volunteers will interact with other adult volunteers to deliver quality training to adults and girls in grades 6-12. Training volunteers may train independently or with other trainers.  


  • Three years of Girl Scout experience as a member or volunteer
  • Experience working with adults and girls
  • Comfortable facilitating a group of 12 to 25 learners
  • Passionate about the Girl Scout experience
  • Punctual, dependable, enthusiastic, flexible and positive attitude


  • Teach girls and volunteers about the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, facilitating Girl Scout programs and utilizing Girl Scout curriculum and resources
  • Set up and breakdown of trainings, handle registration and evaluations
  • Provide a safe space where participants can learn
  • Evaluate abilities with group, collect feedback with evaluations


  • Must be over 18 years old
  • Attend GSHCC Volunteer Orientation
  • Register as an adult member of Girl Scouts and pass a background check ($25 cost to volunteer)
  • Complete Train the Trainer Training
  • Shadow and co-teach classes before training solo

Location & Hours:

Various locations depending on training, within the GSHCC 18 county service area. Trainings will be held on an ongoing basis and posted on the Volunteer Event Calendar. Events may be held on weekdays or weekends, with some evening and overnight opportunities available.

Minimum Commitment & Volunteer Term Limit:

Volunteers must facilitate a minimum of four trainings annually. Trainers will go through an evaluation at the end of each year of service and will have the option of continuing their service by invitation from the training department.

  • Background Check Must be at least Completed - Passed
  • GSHCC Volunteer Orientation Must be Completed
  • How much can you comfortably lift? Must be 50 lbs
  • Registered Girl Scout Member Must be Yes
  • Train the Trainer Training Completed Must be Yes
  • What age category are you? Must be Adult - 18 years of age or older
