Upcoming Events - World Rivers Day at Heywood Park

Join us at Mosquito Creek for an invasive plant pull to celebrate World Rivers Day!🌿

Help restore Heywood Park by removing invasive plants and helping native species flourish! It’s a great way to connect with nature, meet new people, and make a positive impact on the local ecosystem. You can look forward to some community based booths and live music to celebrate the day.

📅 Date: Sunday, September 27 2026
⏰ Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
📍 Location: Heywood Park

🔹 Meeting Point: Heywood Park picnic shelter, on Hamilton Avenue just north of             west 16th Street. Click HERE for location.

On the day, please remember to: 

  • Wear closed-toe sturdy shoes: Preferably with ankle protection
  • Dress for the weather: If rainy, dress in layers and appropriate rain gear.
  • Bring your own gloves: We have extras if you don’t have a pair.
  • Bring a water bottle & mug: Please try to bring your own if you have one. Light refreshments will be provided.

Please consider walking, cycling, carpooling or taking transit to the event. *Please note limited parking in this area.*🚶🚲
