Toronto - Evergreen Brick Works - Outdoor Learning and Play 2020 - Join our Outdoor Learning and Play programs! Spring 2020
Evergreen’s Outdoor Learning and Play programs connect children, youth and educators to nature through immersive, creative, and urban exploration activities. Volunteers can support curriculum-based programs with schools and clubs, professional development for educators, drop-in nature play in our Children’s Garden and more!
Volunteers in these programs are fundamental to offering dynamic, impactful experiences for children and their families, youth and educators. These programs predominantly take place outside in the Children’s Garden at Evergreen Brick Works, with exploration into the nearby environment and ravine systems. Our programs for children, youth and educators are educational, experiential and fun! Through nature games, active exploration, crafts, and loose-parts play, you’ll be nurturing young City Builders and future Earth stewards.
As a volunteer with Outdoor Learning and Play programs you can focus on one role, or support several at the same time. At this time we could really use your support in these two programs:
- Nature School Assistant (Wednesdays)
This six-week immersive nature program is designed for children ages 5-12. This is a great program for volunteers looking to give back to children, and build special bonds with our students.
Commitment: As many Wednesday shifts as possible from 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM for the 6 week session (session starts April 1st, 2020)
Work with staff to provide nature-based programming and additional supervision during the weekly Nature Nut Club for children aged 5-12 on Saturdays.
Commitment: As many Saturday mornings (9:30 AM- 12:30 PM) or afternoons (1:30 PM- 4:30 PM) as possible for the 8-week session (session starts March 28th)
