Youth Conservation Crew (ages 10- 16)

Youth Conservation Crew - for ages 10 - 16 years old!

IGNITE YOUR PASSION

The Youth Conservation Crew (YCC) is designed for students who have an interest in learning more about animals, conservation and the natural world in general.

The YCC meets regularly throughout the year (monthly on Sundays).  Meetings are lead by a Senior Education Coordinator from the Friends of the Zoo Education Team.  Participants in YCC will be introduced to many aspects of animal well-being, zoo administration, sustainability and conservation efforts throughout the world.

Education / Community / Service
Not only do they have built-in educational components to their meetings, but regular attendance also builds community with others in their age groups sharing their passion for conservation.  The YCC also volunteers as a group during some annual events throughout the year under the direction of their group leader.  This combination of community, education and service provides a strong foundation for their development and future career exploration.

Since all Friends of the Zoo volunteers MUST BE at least 14 years old (with a guardian on premises) to volunteer, or 16 and older to volunteer alone, the Youth Conservation Crew provides an avenue for youth with an interest in conservation, animals and zoo operations to get involved.

All YCC Meetings are listed under the Volunteer Category - Youth Conservation Crew.
