Docents - Docent Training
Are you interested in becoming a docent at the zoo? Join us for our training series! These trainings will focus on the animals and practices at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, as well as how we incorporate interpretive education practices around the zoo.
ONLY Experienced FOTZ Volunteers are eligible for DOCENT TRAINING.
To be eligible, you must first:
1) Complete Orientation (signed waiver / receipt of handbook)
2) Complete 20 hours of volunteer service
3) Received/Receiving your Volunteer Shirt & Name Tag
TRAINING:
Each Session consists of 3 trainings. Attending all 3 trainings is mandatory in order to become certified as a docent. If you have missed a training or cannot attend one, you may make the missed training in following sessions.

The next series of training are on Sundays: after April break. For those who attended the first training series, you do not need to attend any second series training session unless it is a make-up.
