Friends of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo

FOR EDUCATION APPROVED VOLUNTEERS ONLY

Day Camp provides enrolled children (ages 6-12) the ability to interact with animals and staff at the zoo and participate in games, activities and crafts.  If you enjoy working with children - this volunteer task is for you! 
Volunteers will help the education team by: 

• Assisting with general daily tasks (cleaning and organizing) 
• Assisting with crafts and other activities with the children
• Chaperoning / Monitoring day campers throughout the day 

This is a public facing position and all volunteers must be approved education program volunteers.  This activity will require modest physical activity, and may require extensive walking/ motoring through the park.  Volunteers should wear their RED Volunteer shirt and name tag.   

To Become an Education Approved Volunteer, volunteers must: 

• complete volunteer orientation
• complete a minimum of 20 hours of general / event volunteer service 
• have a signed standard waiver form on file
• complete and pass a background check 
• complete any other specified training as required by education (per activity)
