Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Orkney 2025. We're organising a celebration of sports and island communities, and need your help to make the event a success. This week-long event will see athletes from up to 24 island groups from across the world compete in 12 exciting sports.

You will be directing spectators, media personnel and competitors at Sports venues and other Orkney 2025
venues in a friendly and safe manner. This is a customer-facing role.
Looking after the fan zone ensuring it looks smart and tidy, and is correctly branded for Orkney 2025. Help
to maintain a programme of live-streamed Sports shown on the screen(s) throughout the day. This is a customer-facing role.
This is a high energy role, making sure the spectators get the best experience possible, getting them
enthused about the Sports and excited to see the competitions. This is a customer-facing role.
This varied role will see you working to ensure ceremonies run smoothly and to time. There will be roles at
the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the many medal ceremonies throughout the Games. This is a customer-facing role.
Delivering a range of goods/items, either as a part a pre-determined schedule or as the need arises.
You may need to deliver all over the Orkney Mainland and inter-linked Southern isles. This role is not customer-facing. This option would involve using an Orkney 2025 vehicle rather than your own.

Assisting in rigging and/or derigging marquees, barriers, sport-specific infrastructure (such as finish
gantries) and various types of branding (flags, banners, bunting etc).
Creating dormitory spaces in schools and/or returning those spaces to classrooms.
Other tasks required to make the Games venues fit for purpose and looking smart.
Moving tables, chairs, merchandise, athlete's kit and other equipment necessary for the smooth running of the Games. This role is not customer-facing.
Assisting various areas of the Games to ensure everything runs efficiently and to time. Computer tasks,
printing, office-based roles and general assistance behind-the-scenes. Using software packages to input scores and/or update accreditation. (Full training will be given). This role is not customer-facing.
This is a very varied role. You will be based in the Games office at Picky and could be doing almost any job
directly assisting the sports or ceremonies to make the competitions and events run smoothly.

You will wear the Orkney 2025 Mascot costume and visit venues and events, pose for photographs, and
engage with spectators at Sports competitions.
You will be the first members of Orkney 2025 to engage with competitors, team officials and spectators.
You will helping them as they arrive and directing them onto the right transport for their accommodation.

You will provide information to competitors, spectators, media, VIPs and competition officials.
You will be aware of all the Sports taking place on the day of your shift, which transport is going where, and
have an overall understanding of the Games processes so you can efficiently direct others to right place at
the right time. (Full training will be given.) This is a customer-facing role.
You will be responsible for ensuring a VIP, Island Manager or other person designated to you gets to the
right venue at the right time. This may be using your own car, public transport or sharing directions to walk
or cycle. This is a customer-facing role.
You will sell official Orkney 2025 merchandise at one of our stands.
You will display items for sale, assist customers, take payment and manage stock levels.
This is a customer-facing role.
This will involve a range of tasks working for one of the Sports to ensure the competition runs smoothly.
You could be counting laps, distributing sponges and water bottles, ensuring athletes' kit is moved, acting
as a runner or directing athletes to their competition.

You will help the Sports competitions to maintain an air of professionalism. You could be making sure the
branding is correct, ensuring the venue is laid out correctly or helping to get everyone in the right place at
the right time. This is a customer-facing role.
