Animal Care Volunteer - Dog

ANIMAL CARE VOLUNTEER (DOGS)  

Position for anyone 16 years and older.

These volunteers help with the day-to-day care of our shelter guests in our Available and Lodging spaces.

 

Duties

  • Cleaning kennels and living spaces for dogs while they wait for adoption
  • Assisting the staff with cleaning of dishes and restocking of supplies 

 

Skills Needed

This is a physical position supporting staff with caring, cleaning for the animals in our care. Volunteers must be 16 and older.

 

Required Training

  • Meet & Greet with Volunteer Coordinator
  • Kenosha Volunteer Handbook & Waivers – Online Training
  • People Centered Philosophy – Online Training
  • Dog Handling Videos & Quiz – Online Training
  • In Person Dog Handling
  • 2 One on One Training with AC/ACT or a veteran Cat ACV Volunteer

    • Monday: 8:30am-10:30am; 1pm-3pm; 3pm-5pm
    • Tuesday: 3pm-5pm
    • Wednesday: 8:30-10:30; 1pm-3pm; 3pm-5pm
    • Thursday: 3pm-5pm
    • Friday: 8:30am-10:30am; 1pm-3pm; 3pm-5pm
    • Saturday: 8:30am-10:30am; 1pm-3pm; 3pm-5pm
    • Sunday: 8:30-10:30; 1pm-3pm

         

          LODGING
