Youth Mentor

Build a relationship and spend time with your mentee in and out of school to help them get to know Cleveland, succeed in school, and adjust to their life in the U.S. Mentors help youth become self-sufficient and integrate into the U.S. with confidence.

Mentoring helps to reduce the effects of culture shock and pre-immigration trauma by instilling positivity and confidence in a positive future.

Mentors must:

- be 18 years or older

- pass a BCI&I background check

- complete a mentor training

- enjoy working with youth

- be culturally sensitive

- have a reliable and consistent means of transportation
