Adult/ Family Mentor

Build relationships and spend time with new arrivals! Help them get to know Cleveland, learn how to use public transportation, learn English, and other things that help them adjust to their life in the U.S. Mentors help our refugee clients become self-sufficient and integrate into the U.S. with confidence.

Mentoring helps to reduce the effects of culture shock and pre-immigration trauma by instilling positivity and confidence in a positive future.

Mentors must:

- be 18 years or older

- pass a BCI&I background check

- complete a mentor training

- enjoy working with people

- be culturally sensitive

- have a reliable and consistent means of transportation
