Front of House

The Volunteer Front of House (FOH) Assistant is a welcoming and community-minded team member who supports the daily operations of The Mercury’s cinema and subscriber spaces. Working under the guidance of the Venue Manager and FOH team, volunteers help create a warm, inclusive, and engaging environment for all visitors. With a passion for film and people, they play a key role in keeping the foyer open and active outside of standard screenings, providing a space where subscribers and guests can relax, connect, and learn more about what The Mercury has to offer. Volunteers assist with greeting patrons, maintaining presentation standards, and supporting public-facing activities such as film screenings and occasional events. While they do not handle cash, volunteers may assist with EFTPOS transactions and general setup under staff supervision. This role is perfect for those looking to gain experience in a cinema setting, connect with Adelaide’s screen community, and contribute to a vibrant, not-for-profit arts venue.

How to Volunteer

Once you have signed up and been approved as a volunteer, you will be able to select from available shifts. Whether you have a few hours once a week, once a month or once a quarter, we'd love your support.
