Port and River Archive: Listing Volunteer

Port and River Archive:

Listing volunteer

Help make our incredible archive more accessible to future generations

The museum's Port and River Archive is looking to welcome a small group of volunteers to help sort, list and repackage the Frank Hasler Collection. This archive, collected over many decades, includes hundreds of photos of working river craft which we would love to make more widely available.

The support offered by the volunteers will allow the museum to share details with researchers, and ensure the continued preservation of this material that is so key to the history of the working River Thames.

  • Complete an initial sort of the uncatalogued FH collection
  • List the material in an accessible format e.g. Excel spreadsheet
  • Contribute your knowledge of the river to enhance the item descriptions (not essential)
  • Assist with repackaging photographs

The Archivist will offer all training needed, and can offer a broader introduction to the Port and River Archive and the work we do.
