Settlement Program/Workshop Support
Role: Settlement Program/Workshop Support
Purpose: Assisting Settlement Team to provide information, skills training, and referrals to local community resources through topic specific workshops and programs.
Responsibilities:
- Arrive on time; receive orientation of event schedule and activities
- Welcome, greet and check-in participants at the registration table
- Prepare, distribute, and collect handouts and evaluation forms
- For in-person support: Assist with set up, take down and clean up of event space
(Includes moving and lifting tables/chairs)
For virtual support: Assist with the registration list and Zoom break out rooms
- Prepare refreshments if applicable
- Additional support to the facilitator, as required
Competencies:
- Comfortable working with people of varying ages and cultural backgrounds
- Highly responsible, organized, reliable and culturally sensitive
- High level of discretion, respectful of others
- Takes direction well
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working with immigrant population
- Digital Skills are assets for virtual volunteer opportunities
Additional Information:
- Orientation and training for this position will be provided after the application submission
- Criminal Record check request letter will be provided after completion of the training sessions
- Age requirement: Over 19 years old
