Role: Employment Program/Workshop Support
Purpose: Assist the Employment Team to provide newcomer participants with opportunities to navigate a pathway to successful employment in Canada through topic specific workshops and programs.
Responsibilities:
- For in-person support: assistance with set-up, take-down and clean-up of event space that includes moving and lifting tables/chairs
- For virtual support: assistance with the registration list and Zoom break-out rooms
- Welcome, greet and check-in participants at the registration table
- Prepare, distribute, and collect handouts and evaluation forms
- Prepare refreshments if applicable
- Additional support to the facilitator, as required
Competencies:
- Comfortable working with people of varying ages and cultural backgrounds
- Highly responsible, organized, reliable and culturally sensitive
- High level of discretion, respectful of others
- Takes direction well
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working with immigrant population
- Digital Skills are asset for virtual volunteer opportunities
Additional Information:
- Orientation and training for this position will be provided after the application submission
- Criminal Record check request letter will be provided after completion of the training sessions
- Age requirement: Over 19 years old
