Employment Program/Workshop Support

Role: Employment Program/Workshop Support 

 

Purpose: Assist the Employment Team to provide newcomer participants with opportunities to navigate a pathway to successful employment in Canada through topic specific workshops and programs.  

 

Responsibilities: 

  • For in-person support: assistance with set-up, take-down and clean-up of event space that includes moving and lifting tables/chairs
  • For virtual support: assistance with the registration list and Zoom break-out rooms 
  • Welcome, greet and check-in participants at the registration table 
  • Prepare, distribute, and collect handouts and evaluation forms 
  • Prepare refreshments if applicable 
  • Additional support to the facilitator, as required 

 

Competencies: 

  • Comfortable working with people of varying ages and cultural backgrounds 
  • Highly responsible, organized, reliable and culturally sensitive 
  • High level of discretion, respectful of others 
  • Takes direction well 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Experience working with immigrant population 
  • Digital Skills are asset for virtual volunteer opportunities 

 

Additional Information: 

  • Orientation and training for this position will be provided after the application submission 
  • Criminal Record check request letter will be provided after completion of the training sessions 
  • Age requirement:  Over 19 years old
