Volunteering on AgVenture Hill is one of the most sought-after areas of the Show! With fun activations and a chance to experience them all in the one shift, you will help patrons connect the country to the city with everything about WA agriculture.
Volunteers will ideally have an interest in history and agriculture.
Volunteers in the Hall greet visitors, share some history about the Hall, the art and the people that are celebrated there as part of the rich fabric of Western Australia’s Agricultural history.
Our animal patting activations may be the first time a person has had the opportunity to get close to animals. Your role as a volunteer is to enhance the experience of the public by welcoming them, giving them a smile, answering questions, and always maintaining the safety of animals and the public.
The Creative Arts and Cookery competition is one of the longest standing exhibitions at the Perth Royal Show and is very popular. The role of volunteers in Creative Arts and Cookery is to interact and engage with visitors and assisting them with any queries they may have. What a great way to see the amazing arts and crafts that have won medals!
The Information Booth is a busy, fast-paced environment, where exceptional customer service and a thorough knowledge of the Show is a must. You will be assisting Show patrons with their enquiries and giving accurate information in a timely fashion. Be prepared to be asked the same question many times!
Support Crew covers breaks and shifts, stepping in as needed to ensure smooth operations. They provide flexible support across roles, cover volunteer breaks, fill in for absent team members, and help keep everything running without disruption.
If you have excellent interpersonal skills and love to engage and help people, we have various opportunities available. You may be required to greet patrons as they arrive, hand out Child ID wristbands or rove the Showground providing maps and directions.
Our Sensory Space is specially designed to support relaxation, emotional regulation, and sensory needs for our patrons. This designated space provides a reduced stimulation environment that allows people to calm, relax, re-organise, and refocus before heading back to the Show. We are looking for volunteers who stay calm, offer gentle support, respect personal space, keep the area clean, and be patient and positive.
The Volunteer Hub is a great place for volunteers to relax and grab a refreshment. A Volunteer Hub Assistant supports the daily running of the hub by welcoming volunteers, answering questions, assisting with sign-ins, re-stocking, keeping the space tidy and any other tasks that we may need help with.
The Yellow Brick Road is a fun and interactive trail targeted at kids aged 6-12, but all ages can join in! Participants purchase a YBR show bag, which is a starter bag with pencil and map, leading to a treasure hunt across the showgrounds which can take up to two and a half hours. Volunteers love being involved by helping out at any of the stops along the trail, including a Scitec activation, at the milking station or with the Sheepdogs!
