Administration - Admin - Phoenix - Advocacy Volunteer
The Advocacy Volunteer will directly assist the CEO of Lutheran Social Services by tracking proposed bills as they move through the AZ legislature. By tracking ongoing changes in government, LSS-SW can be on the forefront of how these proposed bills will impact our clients and our community. The Advocacy Volunteer will allow LSS-SW to better prepare and strategically plan the most effective manner in which we must move forward in serving clients in need across the state of Arizona.
Responsibilities and key deliverables
- Research and track proposed bills as they move through the AZ legislature
- Update the LSS-SW Legislation Tracking Form on a weekly basis
- Alert the CEO of movement of specific bills through the process
Qualifications
- Volunteer must have basic computer skills
- Interest and basic understand of state legislature and bills process
Working conditions
The volunteer may work remotely but should have access to a computer.
Clearances required & training
This role requires a Verified Volunteer background check ($17), volunteers are responsible for the cost. All LSS-SW volunteers are required to complete a Central Registry background check (no cost) during the volunteer orientation. Further training will be provided.
Location & timeframe
The volunteer may serve remotely. Volunteer should commit to serve until the end of legislative session in June 2018.
