Volunteers should have/be:
Working knowledge of the English language
Excellent people skills.
Ability to work independently or with a support worker
Willingness and ability to take direction from staff
Sensitivity to the needs and challenges of the resident the volunteer is visiting
Flu vaccine (annual)
Training:
General St. Michael's Health Centre Orientation for Volunteers
Specific orientation for one-on-one visiting including playing games, crib, reading and visiting
Expected End Result:

May volunteer anytime between 9:00am-4:00pm daily. Arrangements to visit during evenings and weekends can be done through the Volunteer Resources Coordinator
Must be 18 years of age or older to visit on your own. Anyone under 18 must have a registered volunteer to accompany them.
