Training - New Volunteer Orientation - New Volunteer Pt. 2: Shelter Introduction
This session is Part 2 of your Orientation. Please only sign up ONLY if you have already completed the 30 Minute Orientation. (either online or in-person)
During this session, you will:
- Take a guided tour of the shelter
- Learn what each department does
- Be introduced to basic Essential Shelter Help (ESH) volunteer tasks
You’ll also learn about our volunteer level system, which provides a clear pathway to grow into different roles throughout the shelter. As you gain experience, additional opportunities become available—from supporting adoptions and enrichment to assisting with events, foster support, and other specialized roles.
After completing this session, you’ll be cleared to begin volunteering and can sign up for regular ESH shifts.
This session is only required once for new volunteers.
Arrival Instructions:
Please arrive at the Adoptions entrance and let staff know you are here for Shelter Introduction.
You will need to bring $15 for your Volunteer Shirt, wear closed toe shoes, and sign your waiver.
For Volunteers under 18, you will need a parent/guardian signature to complete the tour.

- LV1 - New Volunteers Must be at least NVO - Complete
