Bad Seed (Park Spark) - Help a Habitat at Your Local Park - Leigh Park
Invasive plants are taking over important wildlife habitat in Leigh Park! The City of Coquitlam Parks Department is looking for keen volunteers who would like to be involved in a volunteer-based habitat restoration project at Leigh Park. This exciting project will improve valuable habitat in the forest, increase plant diversity and aid in urban forest health and sustainability, which directly contributes to human health.
Come join the Bad Seed team to learn how to enhance the habitat value of Leigh Park, including learning how to identify invasive species, what the impacts of invasive species are, and how you can help with the conservation of native species. You will also be involved in restoration activities such as invasive plant removal and future native tree and shrub planting.
No experience necessary - training and tools are provided! Please bring a water bottle and wear clothing and shoes appropriate for the activity and the weather. This event will run rain or shine.
Location: Meet the Bad Seed team at the northwest corner of Leigh Park - see map below.
