Environmental Programs - Repair Café Volunteer Recruitment: Sign Up List

The City of Coquitlam is running Repair Café’s in our community and we are seeking volunteers. Repair Cafés are events where locals can bring in broken items to be fixed for free by volunteers. They support Coquitlam’s Environmental Sustainability Plan (ESP) goals to:

  • Minimize Waste Generation
  • Maximize Reuse, Recycling and Material Recovery

For examples of current Repair Cafés, please visit https://www.repaircafe.org/en/about/.

Repair Café events are run by volunteers that that are handy, like tinkering/fixing things, or simply want to help out in the community.

Some examples of volunteer skills used at Repair Cafés include:

  • Woodworking
  • Textiles and Clothing Repair
  • Electronics and Electrical Repair
  • Repairing small appliances
  • Bicycle Repair

We are seeking volunteers that have a variety of these skills to help repair items at the events. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please sign up for this volunteer call of interest.  We will reach out with more information about how you can join a future Repair Cafe.

If you are not a registered City of Coquitlam volunteer (Police Information Check, 2 references, attend an Orientation), you must complete the process before you can volunteer.  If you have any questions about the volunteer process, please contact Community Services at volunteers@coquitlam.ca or 604-927-6076.

If you have any questions about Repair Cafes or would like more information, please contact us at environmentaleducation@coquitlam.ca.
