Fringe Festival Host Team

HOST TEAM

The Host Team opens their homes and hearts to our travelling Artists! This team does not operate like most other teams, as they do not work shifts during the Festival. Instead, they are responsible for providing a place for visiting Artists to sleep while they are in town. Hosting is easy and it allows Volunteers to make a significant contribution to the Festival without making demands on their time. They are a gregarious, fun-loving bunch of people who have a good time meeting and getting to know their guest Artists and each other during the Festival.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Hosts are asked to provide an out-of-town Artist with a sleeping area, a bed of some kind, access to bathroom facilities and a key for the duration of the Festival. That's it. Hosts are not expected to be a hotel or bed and breakfast.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Our Host Team works hard to ensure that the Volunteer-Artist matching process is suitable for everyone. Factors such as the arrival and departure date, pet allergies, smoking preferences, location, and access to transit and/or parking are all considered. We ask Host Volunteers to provide information about their home, and the people in it, to assist in this process. Host volunteers are also asked to complete an online training course.
