Sally's Kitchen - Kitchen Attendant (Dishes)
Daily meals are prepared and served Monday-Friday (Observes Federal Holidays)
These meals are served between 11-1:00p (Volunteers are asked to arrive by 10:45a and stay until 1:15p to help with cleanup)
These meals are available to whosoever and seconds are available at any time. To-go trays are served and available for the last 10 minutes of the serving time (12:50-1:00 PM). On average 200-300 meals are served every day. This is quite the undertaking and approximately 10 volunteers are needed to facilitate this program for the homeless, fixed-income, and working poor. This program is critical as we are the closest free meal source for a majority of the west side of Evansville.
- Dishes and Kitchen Duty - A Volunteer is needed to help the kitchen manager keep up with many tasks related to a running kitchen. These include the following.
- Washing trays and running them through the sanitizing machine
- Washing pots and pans in the 3-bay sinks
- Help carry food out to the serving line when they are running low
- Help the kitchen manager with other tasks as needed
