Breastfeeding Support Volunteer - Richmond

Role Description

Empower and uplift new mothers in your community as a Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. Receive expert training, provide compassionate support at local clinics, and foster a nurturing environment for breastfeeding families. Previous experience or qualifications in breastfeeding support are welcomed, but not required. Join us in making a difference for mothers and babies in your borough.

Location

  • Richmond: Richmond Library Annexe

Availability: Wednesday sessions 1pm - 3pm

Gain Valuable Skills:

  • Receive free, accredited training from the Breastfeeding Network

  • Develop knowledge and skills in breastfeeding support

  • Gain experience working with mothers and babies

Develop Skills and Experience in Maternal and Child Health:

  • Build valuable experience in the healthcare field

  • Network with healthcare professionals

  • Explore potential career paths in maternal and child health

Desirable Qualities:

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

  • Punctual, dependable, and professional

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Empathetic, patient, and respectful

  • Personal experience with breastfeeding is beneficial

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • This role is open to female volunteers only

  • DBS required

  • Minimum 6 months Commitment
