We have a variety of opportunities available for volunteers to support, and always welcome new applicants. This is an opportunity for volunteers to express an interest in becoming a member of the Board of Directors. We are looking for volunteers who represent all regions of Southwestern Ontario, will demonstrate excellence in their field of experience, and will bring care and vision critical to due diligence and good governance. Particularly, we are looking for volunteers who have expertise in any of the following areas:

This opportunity is in person, located in London ON. Some of the administrative volunteer opportunities that PSSO offers are:

Support Group Facilitator
This position works with the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario (PSSO) to provide information, support, and fellowship at monthly group meetings for people living with Parkinson’s, and their families. They provide leadership and facilitation so that group participants feel comfortable to share experiences, ideas, and feelings. They encourage the development of peer relationships, and work to create a space of acceptance and safety where everyone attending can be themselves. This role requires approx. 2 hours in person each month, with an additional 1-2 hours administrative work per month.

Our Philosophy on Volunteer Engagement
Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario values and encourages volunteer engagement across all levels of our organization. Volunteers work collaboratively with PSSO staff to provide support to people impacted by Parkinson's disease, increase education and awareness in the community, and raise funds to support research and services across southwestern Ontario. Our volunteer team is truly bringing "Hope Close to Home" for people impacted by PD.
