The Capilano University Marketing Association (CAPUMA) was founded in 2014 by a small group of business students. Capilano University Marketing Association is a part of the BC collegiate chapters of the American Marketing Association. We provide opportunities to unite students and industry professionals. Our association creates marketing-related events that support student’s knowledge, experience, and skills to enhance their education, career, and beyond. We are the leading student
association in marketing resources, industry professionals, and community engagement.

Job Summary

The Manager of Media will be working in a team of three or more reporting to the Director of Marketing. The role includes assisting the head Director of Marketing with any marketing tasks, be the main coordinator for filmed promotional material and develop a strategic media plan that includes the production of a new recruitment video for CAPUMA in order to effectively communicate CAPUMA’s opportunity to fellow students for years to come.

Duties will include but are not limited to creating and filming a well thought out recruitment video, developing short (5-8 seconds) long videos that can be leveraged on the social media platforms to inform followers of upcoming marketing trends, act as the main coordination for filming at CAPUMA’s events and activities, developing unique and innovative strategies in order to increase ticket sales further to the successfulness of CAPUMA events and working with the Manager of Design and Manager of Media to ensure all online material is cohesive.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties included but not limited to:

  • Work with a team and ensure deadlines are met
  • Confirm with Capilano University’s Student Code of Conduct by acting in a professional and appropriate manner while communicating with association members, fellow students, and faculty
  • Work professionally under pressure
  • Act as a role model for other students
  • Actively delegate tasks and offer assistance to other team members
  • Assist and attend hosted association events
  • Act as an association representative promoting upcoming events and initiatives to others
  • Be pro-active in taking the initiative to continually develop CAPUMA
  • Communicate effectively within a timely manner

Media Responsibilities

  • Take the lead in developing a strategic media plan that aligns with the vision and mission of  CAPUMA
  • Plan, create, and execute filming of a recruitment video
  • Ability to manage incoming emails/messages and respond promptly
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Develop multiple short (5-8 seconds) videos that will be posted on social media
  • Coordinate all filming at CAPUMA’s events and activities
  • Ensure all promotional materials and online content aligns with the vision and mission of CAPUMA
  • Use of Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie, Nero Vision, Corel VideoStudio, PowerDirector, Screenflow, or any other preapproved media program
  • Other duties as assigned
