Job Summary

The Vice President of Events is responsible for organizing events for the Capilano Communication Association. The successful candidate is organized and detailed oriented with a passion for student engagement and event planning.

Responsibilities:

  • The main point of contact for all CCA events (pre/post-event)
  • Help create and plan CCA events that will benefit Communication students
  • Book the necessary facilities, catering, and equipment for association events
  • Research and order swag when necessary
  • Delegate event tasks among members and volunteers prior to event and day of the event as needed
  • Utilize Event Planning Document to draft event timelines and itineraries prior to events
  • Provide post-event reports when requested
  • Work with Vice President of Marketing to ensure proper promotional material is ready for distribution before and during an event
  • Work of Vice President of Public Relations to finalize guest speakers and industry professionals
  • Inspect site and on-site management of events
  • Gather volunteers for events when needed

Qualifications:

  • Current Capilano University student
  • Organized and attention to detail
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and individually
  • Comfortable with being the point of contact for events
  • Able to commit 1-6 hours/week for both Fall and Spring semesters
