KENNEDY CENTER HONORS 2025 - Valet Parking Driver
The Kennedy Center Honors are annual honors given to those in the performing arts for their lifetime of contributions to American culture. They have been presented annually since 1978, culminating each December in a gala celebrating five Honorees in the Kennedy Center Opera House.
This year's Honorees are: country music icon George Strait, legendary rock band KISS (Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss, Ace Frehley), Tony-award winning stage and screen star Michael Crawford, Grammy-winning disco pioneer Gloria Gaynor, blockbuster film powerhouse and Hollywood icon Sylvester Stallone. Valet Parking Driver Job Description:
During Honors weekend, Honors Production Staff needs volunteers to assist as Valet Drivers parking the cars that are brought to the Kennedy Center by talent escorts in the garage or designated area and retrieve them as needed. The cars are usually large SUVs. Please keep in mind interaction with talent is prohibited.
Our Friends Leaders for Valets are currently pending.
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years old or older;
- Attend Honors Virtual Orientation on December 1, 5-6pm;
- Valid driver’s license, and ability to drive at night;
- Ability to drive large vehicles such as mini-vans, and large SUVs (short drive);
- Lots of walking between Opera House stage door, garage, or other designated areas;
- Dress appropriately (volunteers will be in and out of the building).
Before Volunteering:
- You must fill out and sign the Valet Form Honors 2025 by COB Tuesday, November 25;
- Once filled and signed, send it to Volunteers@kennedy-center.org by COB Tuesday, November 25;
- You will receive a confirmation email with further details and a calendar invite to the Honors Virtual Orientation.
Day of Volunteering:
Volunteers are to report to (location pending) at least 15 minutes prior to the shift start time for further instructions. The Friends Office is located on the box tier level of the Concert Hall.
