Seeking Volunteer Ushers
The Stages Theatre Company is a theater organization committed to the enrichment and education of children and youth in a professional theater environment that stimulates artistic excellence and personal growth.
Description of Volunteer Duties:
The Stages Theatre Company relies on their dedicated volunteers to make stage performances possible with opportunities including ushering, performances, assistance at special events, and office work. There are also opportunities to work alongside professionals to help create sets and costumes (special expertise required). Usher responsibilities include:
- Tearing Tickets
- Distributing show programs
- Assisting audience members to their seats
- Picking up programs throughout the theater after performances
Dates, Times, and Locations:
Volunteers are free to choose from any of the upcoming productions/ushering opportunities. Usher shifts are typically 3 hours long.

Volunteer eligibility and training requirements:
Training will occur at the first shift with the house manager. Volunteers are not required to have any previous experience.
Volunteer Compensation: Volunteers will receive ticket vouchers to see future Stages Theater Company productions at every shift AND are invited to the annual Volunteer Appreciation Reception.
Physical expectations/limitations: Ushering requires volunteers to be on their feet and moving up and downstairs. Some light lifting may be required.
What to wear: Volunteers are requested to wear a print-free white or black top and black skirt or slacks. Stage vests and name tags will be provided.
Parking/Transportation: There will be free parking available in the Hopkins Municipal ramp a block from the theater and street parking is also available. There is also a free parking lot adjacent to the Capri Theater at the Minneapolis location.
