Every Meal Weekend Food Gap Program
Every Meal is a nonprofit organization that strives to fight child hunger through community and school partnerships. Child, youth, and family hunger is not limited to certain cities, counties, or school districts. Every Meal focuses on filling the food gaps K-12 students and their families face on weekends, extended breaks, and summer when they are unable to access school meal programs.
Volunteer Activities:
Volunteers are needed for the following positions:
- Packing Volunteers form assembly lines and pack non-perishable food items for people across the state who need them. Shifts are 2 hours long.
- Warehouse “Order Building” Volunteers work in the warehouse side of the building using handheld scanners to put together boxes and/or totes on pallets or carts to be delivered to school or community sites by Every Meal drivers. Shifts are 3 hours long.
- Meal Distribution Volunteers visit schools to distribute food bags into children’s backpacks, lockers or cubbies. School staff will provide more information on which food bags to get delivered on each shift. *Volunteers will need to complete a background check prior to their first shift.
Dates & Times:
Volunteer shifts are typically 2-3 hours in length. Packing and Warehouse shifts are available most weekdays. Distribution typically occurs on Fridays.
Food Bag Packing and Order Building activities occur at the main site:
2723 Patton Road Door, Roseville, MN 55113.
Meal Distribution occurs at a range of schools in the metro area, as well as throughout Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. Volunteers may indicate their geographic preference for school meal distribution. School locations will be provided to meal distribution volunteers after they have completed their background check. There is a high need for volunteers in St. Paul schools.

Deadline to Register: Volunteer applications are accepted throughout the 2024-2025 academic year.
