Who will see the difference? Our amazing healthcare staff across West London NHS Trust
Working in our busy NHS services can mean the pressure is on, leading to increased staff anxiety. Our healthcare workers may become too busy to make time for themselves and their own health and wellbeing. Sadly, this means some people may experience reduced morale, increased sickness and absence and even impact on their decision to remain part of the Trust team.
Spend some time with our healthcare workers offering valuable health and wellbeing activities to bring about the feel good factor at work. This is a flexible and bespoke volunteering opportunity where you can create your own activities around your time, skills, confidence, hobbies and interests for what you’d like to offer and in line with the objectives of the project. Whether it’s running a general activity such as making refreshments and socialising with group members or something very specific we would not have even dreamt of such as an afternoon ukulele session or a pastel pencil painting class, we want to hear from you!
The volunteering activity:
We will need support with;
- Participating in a briefing meeting with the service to further explore your proposed activity in your volunteering application
- Clarify practical support needs from the team for the activity to take place e.g. venue, marketing materials
- Facilitate a staff wellbeing activity session for the proposed activity you’d like to offer
- Consider formal risk assessments with the support of your Trust point of contact for safe and effective delivery of activities
Consider activities that fit the wider objective of the initiative, which is to support the health and wellbeing of staff. Previously, we have had monthly massage sessions, wellbeing craft sessions, and mindful walking sessions.
We are particularly interested in anything that can help the staff team unwind, relax, and have fun!
