Summer Reading Challenge Volunteer - 'Read to the Beat' (Age 13+)

This summer, Croydon Libraries are looking for volunteers aged 13 upwards to help with the 'Read to the Beat' Summer Reading Challenge.

The Summer Reading Challenge is a national initiative presented by The Reading Agency delivered in partnership with public libraries every year.  The Challenge starts on Saturday 4th July and is aimed at children aged 4 to 11 years, regardless of their reading ability.  Children can enrol onto the scheme at their local library, where they can choose books to read as part of the challenge, receive rewards and a certificate once it has been completed!

This volunteer role helps children to improve their reading skills and confidence in a fun and welcoming environment.  Volunteers will support them by asking very simple questions about their books and will also encourage kids to take part in other various activities related to the challenge.
