As a Volunteer Op Shop Assistant, you’ll enjoy a role that’s as varied as the treasures we receive. Depending on your skills, interests, and enthusiasm, you may help with:
- Customer service and friendly interactions
- Point‑of‑sale and cash handling
- Merchandising and creating displays
- Sorting and preparing donations
- General op shop duties
It’s a wonderful way to gain hands‑on experience while supporting a meaningful cause.

🧺 Your Tasks May Include
- Helping customers find the perfect pre-loved treasure
- Merchandising clothing, homewares, furniture, and unique items
- Accepting donations and thanking donors
- Sorting, hanging, steaming, and tagging stock
- Using EFTPOS and cash registers
- Sharing info about current RSPCA Qld promotions and events
- Proudly representing the RSPCA Qld Op Shop team through your love of op shopping and animal welfare
🌟 What We’re Looking For
- Friendly, positive, and enthusiastic people
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and willingness to follow directions
- Physically fit and able to lift 5kg
🕒 When Can You Volunteer?
We ask that volunteers commit to at least one shift per week.
- 9am-1pm
- 10am-2pm
- 12pm-4:30pm
- 9am-4:30pm
A minimum commitment of 3 months is required.
Full orientation and training are provided — we’ll support you every step of the way!
🐾 Important Note
Some locations require an up‑to‑date Tetanus vaccination.
