🛍️ What to Expect

As a Volunteer Op Shop Assistant, your role can be as varied and unique as the items we receive! Depending on your interests and skills, you may be involved in:

  • Greeting and assisting customers
  • Point of sale and cash handling
  • Merchandising and creating eye‑catching displays
  • Sorting and preparing donations
  • Sharing promotional info and RSPCA updates
  • Keeping the shop looking wonderful
  • Working as part of a warm, supportive team

You'll gain hands‑on experience while helping raise crucial funds to support animals in need.

🧺 Your Tasks May Include

  • Helping customers find the perfect pre-loved treasure
  • Merchandising clothing, homewares, furniture, and unique items
  • Accepting and thanking donors
  • Sorting, hanging, steaming, and tagging stock
  • Using our cash register and EFTPOS system
  • Representing the RSPCA Qld Op Shop brand with pride

🌟 What We’re Looking For

  • Friendly, positive, and enthusiastic people
  • Good communicators who enjoy working in a team
  • Able to follow directions
  • Physically able to lift 5kg
  • A passion for sustainability, community, or animal welfare is a big plus!

🕒 When Can You Volunteer?

Indooroopilly RSPCA Op Shop opens March 2026!


Shifts available in four-hour blocks Monday to Sunday, between the hours of 9:00am – 4:30pm.

There will also be exciting opportunities to help with our store fit‑out and opening days, including setting up displays and sorting donations as we get ready to launch!

🐾 Important Note

Some locations require an up‑to‑date Tetanus vaccination.
